Guess what?! I have been asked to attend our local Council’s Youth Council meeting as a speaker! This is a great opportunity for me to have my say, discuss a wide range of topics, and really make a difference in my local community, while learning valuable decision making, debating, and organisational skills.
I have a few ideas:
– I want more groups for young people to join – drama or photography clubs; events or groups run by an expert for specific interests.
– More essential life skills workshops during half-term breaks and holidays.
– I am passionate about food, cooking and healthy eating and think it’s very important to teach young people about healthy eating habits and how food affects their body and mood.
What other topics would you suggest?
Well done Khushi!!! I’m so proud of you kiddo!! Thinking forward to the neeting: how about dance classes or a production done by kids for kids? Maybe apprenticeship programmes where kids can begin to think about what they would like to do later in life? Getting business gurus in to talk about work and the importance of investing and saving etc? Getting the youth involved in environmental activities is also good. Keep us posted; you’re going to be fabulous ?.
I’ve had a look at Khushi’s blog and I think it’s great. She’s going to be a great asset to all one day…I have one idea to add…how about yoga and meditation for youth? It’s a good life skill to have. Good luck to her xx
